How do I create a subscription using a Payment Request?

To set up a subscription easily and quickly without needing a website, you can send a payment request directly to your buyer using their email address by doing the following:


  1. Log in to your PayFast account.

  2. Navigate to Payment Request > Send Payment Request.

  3. Under What service type is the payment request for?, select Subscription.

  4. Enter the recipient's email address and name.

  5. Enter the Amount. This is the initial amount that will be charged immediately when the subscription is set up.

  6. Enter the Recurring Amount. This is the amount that will be charged on a recurring basis for the remaining cycles.

  7. Select the Frequency of the subscription payments. The available options are daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually and annually.

  8. Enter the Number of Payments you would like the subscription to run for or click the infinite box if the subscription does not have a finite duration. 

  9. Enter the remaining fields as necessary, including the Subscription name, and click Send Payment Request. Your customer will receive an email with a Pay Now link to make the initial payment with their card.
