How do I enable two-factor authentication (2FA)?

Two-factor authentication is an optional (yet recommended) login security feature that requires both your password and your mobile phone to successfully log in to your PayFast account.

To enable two factor authentication for your PayFast account, do the following:

New PayFast Dashboard 

  1. Log in to your PayFast account.

  2. Navigate to Account > Security. 

  3. Scroll down to Two Factor Authentication.

  4. Toggle to Enabled.

  5. Select your country code and enter your mobile phone number.

  6. Click Save.

  7. You may need to complete steps on your mobile phone to enable two-factor authentication.

Old PayFast Dashboard

  1. Log in to your PayFast account.

  2. Navigate to the Profile tab.

  3. Click edit next to Security Information.

  4. Click the Two Factor Authentication tab.

  5. Enter your mobile phone number and select your country code.

  6. Click on the subscribe button (this will subscribe you for two-factor authentication). You might have to complete steps on your mobile phone.

  7. Click the link to enable two-factor authentication.
